We have expertise in the renovation of historic buildings (both houses, schools and commercial buildings) following our involvement with many different types of listed buildings within the south of England.
We blend innovative design with the rich heritage of Bournemouth and Poole. Whether you’re planning a new build, a renovation, or a commercial project, our team is dedicated to creating spaces that enhance the beauty of this vibrant area of the South-West.
Bournemouth and Poole were once separate coastal towns but are now part of a larger conurbation known for its beaches, coastal landscapes, Victorian history, and maritime heritage. Poole developed as a key port in the medieval period and has one of the largest natural harbours in the world. It has a number of Georgian mansions that were a product of the wealth of the Newfoundland trade.
Both towns have an eclectic mix of Victorian, Edwardian, and contemporary architecture designed to appeal to the Victorian middle class, many of which still retain their original charm. Poole’s historic Old Town showcases Georgian townhouses and cobbled streets. Bournemouth rose to prominence as a seaside resort in the 19th century, attracting visitors for its natural beauty and sea air. It was during this period that the fabulous Bournemouth Pier, designed by Eugenius Birch, was constructed.

Renovation of Listed and Historic Buildings in Bournemouth & Poole
We have been involved in a number of complex renovation projects in historic settings including the grade 2* listed Roundhouse Theatre in Camden Town and listed buildings in Mayfair and Bloomsbury in London. We understand heritage projects are about a deep understanding of conservation principles, historic and cultural interpretation, recalling lost memories and bringing the stories of the past to life.
We take a forensic approach to conservation looking at every detail of the building was made and how its setting has changed over time. This helps us understand heritage values, historic development and guides our approach to how we alter and adapt the building to meet modern day requirements.
To achieve this it is necessary to collaborate with planners, urban designers, clients and the community to ensure a successful outcome for projects within a heritage setting. Not only does the listed building need to be carefully repaired but the setting of the building including the design of the public realm, lighting, pathways and landscape and vitally important to the overall success of a project.

We have built a new boating pavilion in Hyde Park and recently completed the renovation of Leiths School of Food and Wine in West London.
